Wonderful Wednesday!

Hello All!

Today we had a great day with the theme of Royal Court Day! Although Head Counselor Queen Courtney was confused and thought that meant there would be a lot of tennis- the day proceeded with plenty of activities in the morning. Including a new activity of Archery. Cabins could be spotted all over camp fishing, swimming, doing the zipline, and arts and crafts.

The afternoon was filled with an excellent "Kangaroo Court" in which campers accused counselors, each other, and other cabins of various crimes including such atrocities as singing to much, having stinky feet, and even being too nice! The royal court had to decide if the accused were guilty or not and had to decide on a fitting punishment. Several people who were found to be guilty endured the horrors of a pie in the face, a kiss from a fish, or being made into a human Sunday!

Once the court was over it was off to cabin choice. Each cabin got to decide where they would like to enjoy their pizzas, and do an activity of their choice. Frontier decided to have a pool party while Sunshine went hiking and fishing. All of the cabins had a great night enjoying each others company and we are all getting ready for tomorrow.

The BOEC group retrned to camp today! They had an excellent time rafting, climbing and camping! They seemed to be in great spirits but all a little tired.

TheThroughout the week the cabins have been earning points towards knighthood in the categories of Chivalry, Sportsmanship, Enthusiasm, and Integrity. It is the hope of our royal court that all of the cabins will have completed their task by our knighting ceremony tomorrow evening!

Quest Day!

All of camp was charged with a quest to help find the king and queen's shield that was somehow misplaced last night! The day was spent at all of the activity areas and even though it was a bit cooler this morning we were able to get outside and enjoy the zip line, horses, fishing and the pool. We even spent time on the deck at arts and crafts and did paint drums at music and drama. It was great to get to run around and expend some energy at sports and recreation. The kids going to the BOEC left this morning and we are all wishing them luck on their rafting trip!
Tonight's activity was Sword in the Stone Quest. All of the key players in the RMV royal court were present and cabins had to figure out who put the sword back in the stone. Could it have been Marlin the wizard of fishing? Or Maybe Lady Guinevere? Where was the Black night when the sword went missing? They were able to question the royal court about there whereabouts, but only after completing a special task. Tasks included crossing and "electric fence", working together to flip a carpet, and other team building activities. It turned out that Lancelot just wanted to see if he was strong enough to pull Excalibur from the stone! The all camp finished and kids seemed ready for a good nights rest after the first full day of camp! Meadowbrook decided to do a cabin wide camp out at push camp, and is enjoying some s'mores before bed!

I know you are anxiously awaiting some photos, and we are working on it- but collecting photos from staff can be a daunting task- we have posted a few here tonight and look for a more inclusive album tomorrow!

Welcome Hemophilia Camp!

Welcome to Camp!

Sunday's are fantastic and while we know that the check-in process can take a while we are glad to be all settled in! We spent the afternoon creating our kingdoms and realms. The cabins have all taken on new names, like flaming dragons, and mountain troll fighters. All the cabins have made flags, and decorated their cabins to transport us back to Medieval Times.

We spent the evening doing skits and introducing all of the members of our cabins. We sang camp songs and enjoyed each others company. We are all looking forward to starting camp activities tomorrow and enjoying being outside. We will be posting photos from today in the morning so check back tomorrow!

Pizza and Wednesdays are a good match...

Well today was just plan AWESOME! Our theme of the day was Sports and Leisure, so we had some cabins dressed up as sports figures. Zipline was successful, today such as horse back riding. The siblings when on a camp out tonight, so tomorrow we will hear all the fun stuff they talked about and did. Today is even better when we add pizza to the mix, cabins were able to pick selected areas to have an a activity then eat home made pizza prepared by our chef on camp. After their belly's are full with pizza, the campers can relax and take it easy and watch a movie or go back to the cabin and hang out with the fellow cabin mates. If you click here, you can see some of the pics taken today This is RMV blog signing off! See you all tomorrow!

This is why we dont hate Mondays!

Just another day in RMV paradise, we had a fun filled day of activities, from zip line to horses. The theme of the day was Science Day. For the all camps the cabins did science experiments such has making a rocket using Mentos and Diet Coke! The campers also learned more about their talkers during their cluster activities. Overall it was a productive day here at TWT camp, the theme tomorrow is Geography Day, so the campers are excited to see what activies are offered tomorrow!

Rain won't get us down!

Its Sunday and TWT has started, and even though it rained and kept us inside, we still had fun! This week's theme is Trivia Pursuit and each cabin has to fill up their chart at the end of the week. During the day the campers participate in camp activities and learn more about and how to use their talkers. Check out the pictures here, and see how much fun they are having!

"Thursday's Child"

We're almost at the end of the week already - just where has the time gone!

Today the weather's been a bit cooler - with early morning cloud cover which lead into a bright and warm afternoon.

So what's been going on today? Catching up with some unfinished business all over the place with campers taking their last opportunities to do activities. So we had (at last) an chance to make S'mores , finish glazing pottery , or grab a last go on the Zip wire. There was also a chance to go fishing (Lindsey was up to 14 fish and counting ), Michael, Uriah, Katy and Hazel had a competitive basketball workout ; while Brenda and Justine went wild on the paint drums . The overnight campers returned mid-morning having had a great time under canvas.

Of course, everyone was waiting for the Kangaroo Court after lunch when all those counselors guilty of terrible crimes like being too nice or too tall or too untidy underwent their well deserved punishments. But how bad do you have to be to have to kiss a fish? There were plenty of campers ready to bring these charges and everyone was guilty! . Finally Courtney and Ben had the ultimate punishment or treat - shaved heads!

In contrast, Vespers was a beautiful quiet time for reflection held in the Tranquility Garden. Some campers spoke movingly about the activities they had enjoyed and the friends they had made, and everyone joined in the singing as the sun went down.

Then at last that big moment of the week - The Dance! The pictures say it all.

Finally as your visitors/
guest bloggers from England hit the trial to see more of Colorado, can
we thank you all, campers and staff, for a truly awesome week and one which we'll never forget.
