Thursday Night

Today has been an eventful day for everyone. This afternoon's all camp was State Fair which included activities such as a livestock judging competition, apple bobbing, a seed spitting competition, hay rides, horseback riding, cream your counselor, carnival games, and finally old fashioned photos. After the activities we had a cookout; unfortunately it rained so we had to eat inside.

After dinner we will have Vespers which is a time to share memories of week and sing. Directly after that the dance will start. Tomorrow morning awards will start at 10 followed by the slide show. Remember to keep checking photobucket for new pictures. I will be upload many more tonight.

Thursday Morning

Good morning everyone! Today begins the last full day of camp and with a theme like Party Day we are going to go out in style. Already this morning, a toga party has been spotted as well as a Christmas party and a New Year's party.

This morning we have our last cabin and free activity. Activities that will be open include swimming, the zip-line, horseback riding, music and drama, sports and rec, and smores with outdoor living skills.

This afternoon will be a State Fair themed all camp and getting ready for the dance. Finally will be dinner, Vespers (music and memory sharing), and then the dance.

Below is a video of a camper riding the horse that I couldn't get up yesterday. Enjoy!

Morning Activities and Georgetown Loop Railroad

Good afternoon everyone! This morning campers did a variety of activities. Many campers did the zip line and rode the horses while a small group went on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. This afternoon we have swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, and hay rides planned.

Tonight is the cabin pizza party at the location of their choice and a movie to follow. This works out perfectly since today is PJ Day and we are all dressed for this kind of event.

Below is a video of a camper on the zip. Enjoy!!

**Remember photos can be reached by a link in every post.**

PJ Day

This morning we all woke up, rolled out of bed, and were ready for camp. Today is officially PJ Day. In addition to being PJ Day, it is also Underwear Wednesday. So with PJs on and underwear on our heads, we are ready to start the day.

This morning a day trip is leaving for Georgetown. They will be riding the Loop Railroad and will be back for lunch. Pictures will be up shortly after that. Cabin activities for this morning include horseback riding, sports and rec, and the zip line as well as a slew of free activities. We'll be back after lunch with updates on the day trip and morning activities!

Willy Wonka Night

Hello again! Tonight's all camp was a tour of Willy Wonka's factory. Unfortunately Willy Wonka went missing so the campers joined the Oompa Loompas and tried finding clues to his whereabouts. They traveled to many places such as the Bubble Room, the Chocolate River, the Transporter Room, the Pure Imagination Room, the Lolipop Garden, and even an Oompa Loompa dance off. The clues led them to the Main Lodge where Willy Wonka came out and shared candy!

Tomorrow's theme will be PJ Day. Both campers and counselors are excited to be able to wake up and go straight to breakfast without changing. That is all for tonight. Updates will come tomorrow!!!

Tuesday Afternoon

I have to say after looking at the pictures of the trip to Mt. Evans I am extremely jealous. The group that went got to see tons of wildlife and had beautifully clear views of the mountains. I have uploaded these pictures to photobucket and you can click here to see them.

While those mountain climbers were away, the rest of us were hanging out at camp. Campers had the chance to go horseback riding, fishing, swimming, the zip line, or arts and crafts. Many took advantage of the very warm morning and went swimming while others continued to fish for the infamous General (a fish that looks more like a large prehistoric sea creature than a fish). Finally, a few campers took their first ride on a horse. These pictures can also be seen by clicking above.

This afternoon we have many more activities planned as well as a secret but amazing all camp tonight. Tune in later for those updates!

Tuesday Morning

!!!!!!!YAD NWOD-EDISPU OT EMOCLEW If that is a little bit confusing, it is "Welcome to Upside-down Day!!!!" backwards. With such a theme we could only do one thing, start our day with the camp song (usually before bed), lower the flag, and then have dinner for breakfast. We had a wonderful meal of tostadas and rice. Even though it was weird to eat dinner for breakfast, the campers were great sports and at least tried the crazy meal.

Trying to figure out the activities today was a little harder than usual, mostly because the visual schedule was upside-down. This morning Meadowpine (Meadowbrook and Alpine together) will be going to horses, while Sunshine goes swimming, Pondo will be fishing, and Rainbow will be at Sports and Rec. Besides these activities we have even more going on at camp today.

A small group of campers get the opportunity to go on a day trip with Outdoor Living Skills. They will leave this morning for Mt. Evans and will be there all morning. Although I am not going on this trip, I will be sure to steal some pictures from those that are and get them up on the photobucket site.

That is all for this morning. We will be back after lunch for updates on the Mt. Evans trip and morning activities.

PS. I posted hundreds of pictures yesterday. Click here to go to the site!

End of the First Full Day of Camp

Here ends the first full day of camp! After a snack of some brownies and a visit from Channel 7 news (reporting on the cancellation of MDA week), campers are well on their way to adjusting to the camp schedule. Afternoon activities included sports and rec, fishing, swimming, smores, paint drums, and ceramics in arts and crafts. Campers got a taste of it all.

This evening during our all camp activity we stuck to the Color Day theme. Campers were charged with the duty of decorating their cabin in a particular color and then hosting other cabins. With streamers, pipe cleaners, costumes, candy, and snacks galore, campers made the most of their assigned color. In the end, everyone was a winner with awards such as best dressed campers, most creative design, most crazy design, and most colorful.

The day ended with the camp song with a background of orange clouds. We can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!!

It's Monday!!!

It has been a wonderful day so far. At flag raising, cabins showed their color for Colors Day. Sunshine Cabin led the flag raising sporting completely yellow attire. Other cabins represented the rainbow well with Pondo Cabin in blue and Meadowbrook/Alpine in pink and Rainbow wearing all the colors.

After flag raising campers enjoyed arts and crafts, swimming, the zip line, fishing, music and drama, and outdoor living skills. In arts and crafts campers threw bowls on the wheel and made sculptures out of clay while in music and drama campers enjoyed making their own musical instruments. In outdoor living skills campers made smores.

With lunch and rest behind us, we are ready to start another line of activities. If you would like to see the rest of the pictures taken at camp this morning, click on the top photo and it will take you to our photobucket album for this week!

Camp Spontaneous

SURPRISE!!! It's a brand new week of campers that no one quite expected. After the cancellation of MDA camps nationwide, RMV's administrators went into high gear trying to find campers to fill the week. Luckily we have an amazing group of 20 campers and have dubbed the week Camp Spontaneous.

We started last night with a campfire, skits, and songs. Campers loved dressing up and showing off some cabin pride. This small group of campers can sure make a lot of noise!

RMV is excited to start activities today and keep up the theme of surprise. Who knows what will happen next...
